The summer holiday has arrived, the ban on visiting Scotland has been lifted and we have decided to head up to the gorgeous Isle of Bute in order to champ in St Ninians Church. We are met off the ferry by Liam, who has been helping us to get the heating working and a working toilet and running water. We arrive at the church, the grass is overgrown and we find multiple leaks in the roof, dripping loudly onto the church floor and pews. Nevertheless, we are keen to get our tent set up, create a home from home space and we decide to use the alter as this is the largest area and is carpeted. Set up and hot drinks made, we are ready for our first night in the church, dare I turn the lights out?
